On May 25, the unveiling ceremony of Tongwei-Honglong White Shrimp Ecological Aquaculture Park in Indonesia was grandly held on Seram Island, Indonesia. Built on the existing breeding base of Honglong Aquaculture in Indonesia, the park integrates Tongwei’s mature operational experience and cutting-edge technologies, emerging as a benchmark ecological shrimp farming project across Southeast Asia.
Guo Yizhong, President of TW Agriculture and Chairman of TWAD, and Zhuo Xinrong, Chairman of Fujian Pingtan Ocean Fishery Group, jointly unveiled the plaque for the park. Also present at the ceremony were Zhou Sunqiang, Deputy General Manager of Pingtan Ocean Fishery Group; Pan Xuemei, Deputy General Manager of Tongwei Fishery Technology Co., Ltd.; Cheng Xing, Deputy General Manager of Tongwei Fishery Technology Co., Ltd. and General Manager of the Shrimp Trading Division; as well as relevant management personnel from Tongwei Fisheries and Honglong Aquaculture.

Seram Island boasts pristine coastal waters surrounded by coral reefs, offering unparalleled natural breeding conditions. Supported by Pingtan Ocean Fishery’s long-term local presence in Indonesia, Honglong Aquaculture holds exclusive access to the island’s abundant primitive ecological resources. Covering a total area of over 6,000 mu, the park houses 660 standardized shrimp ponds. It is the only modern shrimp farm in Southeast Asia featuring exclusive, island-wide dedicated breeding, with a complete international-standard modern breeding management system in place to guarantee pure, safe shrimp products from the source.
Drawing on years of technical accumulation, Tongwei Fisheries has developed specialized feed that enhances the appearance of white shrimp, producing shrimp with distinctive reddish appendages and brown bodies. When cooked, the shrimp exhibit vivid red coloration with springy, firm meat rich in essential nutrients, delivering breakthroughs in both visual appeal and taste. Tongwei’s proprietary technologies span the entire breeding value chain, covering feed formulation, farming management, water quality regulation and post-harvest quality inspection, ensuring every shrimp meets stringent standards for high-end markets.
Leveraging integrated resource strengths of both parties, the core offering of "Tongwei White Shrimp Directly Sourced from Indonesia" undergoes comprehensive quality upgrades to match the widely recognized premium benchmarks of Thai shrimp, delivering equivalent quality, more streamlined supply chains and superior cost performance to capture the high-end white shrimp market.
This unveiling follows the strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Tongwei Fisheries and Pingtan Ocean Fishery Group held in Chengdu on May 19. Building on the signed framework agreement and the inauguration of the new park, the two sides will pursue in-depth collaboration across three pillars: product development, channel expansion and brand marketing.
In terms of product cooperation, the product portfolio will expand from basic frozen shrimp into four core product lines tailored to diverse consumption scenarios: premium frozen whole shrimp, butterfly split shrimp, peeled shrimp and shrimp paste. Customized solutions will be developed for household convenience consumption and commercial catering demand. New products will be launched in phases to steadily penetrate the market, rapidly capture consumer recognition and form a competitive product matrix. In terms of channel development, the partners will deepen coverage across diversified sales channels including new retail & fresh food e-commerce, traditional supermarkets, live-streaming e-commerce, and B2B catering channels, making premium Indonesian white shrimp accessible to broader consumer groups. In terms of brand marketing, the two companies will partner with professional branding agencies and key media partners to amplify brand exposure, upgrade brand image, sustain market buzz, boost customer loyalty and achieve long-term sustainable growth.
Meanwhile, both sides will jointly establish and refine a full-process quality control system, systematically rolling out standardized quality management protocols at breeding and processing facilities, completing a full range of product certifications, and building a full-lifecycle traceability platform to safeguard consistent product quality.
Following the unveiling ceremony, Chairman Guo Yizhong, Chairman Zhuo Xinrong and their delegations conducted an in-depth inspection tour of Honglong Aquaculture’s shrimp farms and processing plants on Seram Island, Indonesia.

The base operates self-owned quick-freezing processing plants, exclusive docks and cold-chain fleets, enabling full traceability and control from pond to dining table. Notably, a dedicated 7-kilometer paved road has been constructed to cut transportation time from ponds to processing plants to just 15 minutes. The entire workflow from harvesting to finished product packaging takes less than two hours, with zero preservative additives required to fully lock in the natural sweetness and nutritional value of white shrimp. Furthermore, a regular monthly cold-chain shipping route connects the base to Fuzhou, China, effectively bridging the "last mile" to deliver premium global seafood directly to Chinese consumers.

The base has reached a stable annual output of over 20,000 tons of high-quality shrimp, successfully exporting China’s advanced aquaculture technologies and standards to Southeast Asia and serving as a model for Sino-Indonesian aquaculture cooperation.
Every shrimp embodies accumulated technical expertise, uncompromising craftsmanship, and a solemn commitment by both enterprises to food safety and quality for consumers. Looking ahead, Tongwei Fisheries and Honglong Aquaculture will further integrate their strengths: Tongwei brings leading capabilities in recirculating aquaculture systems, shrimp quality improvement and branded operation, while Honglong Aquaculture contributes local production resources and on-the-ground operational experience in Indonesia. The two parties will deepen their presence in Indonesia’s shrimp farming industry, stabilizing product quality, boosting production capacity and expanding business scale. Jointly scaling up the cooperative project, they will supply high-quality shrimp products to domestic channel partners and consumers, consolidate their competitive edge in the high-end seafood market, and contribute Chinese expertise and solutions to the sustainable development of the global aquaculture sector.
