From May 18 to 20, the 23rd China Animal Husbandry Expo and 2026 China International Animal Husbandry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "CAHE") was grandly held at the Western China International Expo City in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Yu Kangzhen, Counselor of the State Council and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ma Youxiang, National Committee Member of the CPPCC and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Li Xirong, former President of the China Animal Agriculture Association, and Cai Huiyi, President of the China Animal Agriculture Association, attended the opening ceremony and guided the exhibition tour. Dr. Zhang Lu, Vice President of Tongwei Co., Ltd., General Manager of TWAD, and Secretary of the TWAD Party Branch, alongside He Dongjian, Executive Deputy General Manager of TWAD, Xiang Yang, General Manager of the Livestock and Poultry Business Division, Liu Rufang, General Manager of the Premix Segment, Dr. Zhu Dan, Director of the Livestock and Poultry Research Institute, Liu Tianqiang, head of the Marketing Department of the Livestock and Poultry Business Division, Zhao Cheng, Production Director, Zhang Jie, head of the Information Department, and Wang Yang, head of the Communication and Planning Department, attended the expo. They were joined by relevant heads from Sichuan Tongwei, Changshou Tongwei, Deyang Tongwei, Tongwei Animal Nutrition, Sanxin Pharmaceutical, and Sichuan Willtest. Together, they shared Tongwei's mainstream livestock and poultry products alongside integrated solutions with the industry.
The CAHE has been successfully held for 22 sessions. Its scale firmly ranks first in Asia and second in the world, making it the premier annual grand event for the animal husbandry industry. As 2026 marks the opening year of the "15th Five-Year Plan," this session of the CAHE was themed "Showcasing New Dynamics, Sharing New Achievements, Energizing New Drivers, Leading New Development." The scale of the expo reached a historic high, with an exhibition area exceeding 180,000 square meters. It gathered over 1,500 Chinese and foreign enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. Numerous industry leaders and professional visitors assembled under one roof to jointly deliberate on the future development direction of animal husbandry, contributing strength to rural revitalization and building up strength in agriculture.

Concurrently with the expo, Dr. Zhang Lu, Vice President of Tongwei Co., Ltd., General Manager of TWAD, and Secretary of the TWAD Party Branch, was invited to attend the 3rd Animal Husbandry High-Quality Development Conference to engage in deep exchanges with industry colleagues. The conference was themed "Changes Unseen in a Century, Building Consensus to Meet Challenges, and New Development in Transformation and Upgrading." It focused on deep discussions across five major segments: policy guidance, technological empowerment, industrial synergy, enterprise empowerment, and resource matchmaking in animal husbandry. During the special session on animal husbandry enterprise management and consulting, Dr. Zhang pointed out in his speech that industry competition has intensified in recent years, displaying an increasingly fierce internal environment. Capital management is of paramount importance for both large and small enterprises alike. Under the competitive landscape dominated by large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises still possess a broad space to grow bigger and stronger by leveraging their unique advantage of flexibility. They should highlight their own characteristics, exploit their strengths, and avoid weaknesses.
At the 6th Meeting of the 5th Council of the China Animal Agriculture Association, the review results of the Society Work Department of the CPC Central Committee regarding the mid-term adjustment of the association's leadership candidates were read aloud on-site. Dr. Zhang was successfully elected as the Vice President of the 5th Council of the association.

During the expo, TWAD and SciGene jointly organized the "Genetics-Driven Breeding, Nutrition-Driven — Tongwei & SciGene Hyperprolific Sows Technical Forum" to address key challenges facing the swine industry. He Dongjian, Executive Deputy General Manager of TWAD, and Li Shuangbin, Chairman and President of SciGene, led their respective teams to attend the event. By pairing SciGene's excellent genetics with Tongwei's tailor-made nutritional products, the dual-engine drive of "genetics + nutrition" assists large-scale farms and family farms in lowering costs and enhancing efficiency. The key to breaking through industry challenges lies in demanding efficiency from breeding sources and seeking returns from technology. At the event site, the parties officially signed an agreement to launch the "Tongwei & SciGene Hyperprolific Sows Technical Collaborative Innovation Alliance." This marks a new phase in the collaborative development of premium genetics and high-quality nutrition. Moving forward, both sides will place their focus on advancing technical synergy, market synergy, and innovative synergy. They will utilize Tongwei's precise nutrition to fully unleash the genetic potential of SciGene's breeding herds. Through shared channels and service systems, they will deliver full-chain, one-stop services, carry out joint research on core technologies, and output low-cost, high-yield farming solutions to lead the market and create greater value.

Dr. Zhang Lu, Vice President of Tongwei Co., Ltd., and Zheng Hongfei, Global Senior Vice President of Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health, led their respective teams to attend the ceremony. As a leading global provider of animal nutrition solutions, Cargill possesses a vast R&D network, databases, comprehensive solutions, and digital technologies. At the TWAD booth, the Company centrally displayed over 40 mainstream products and innovative achievements spanning livestock and poultry feed, animal health, and testing services. The display drew professional visitors from domestic and international fields such as feed processing, raw material supply, and equipment manufacturing to stop by for business exchanges. Concurrently, publications such as the Tongwei Newspaper, promotional brochures, and product manuals were neatly arranged on the stands, comprehensively illustrating Tongwei's corporate culture.
Technical and marketing heads from the Livestock and Poultry Research Institute, the Livestock and Poultry Marketing Department, Sichuan Tongwei, Changshou Tongwei, Deyang Tongwei, Tongwei Animal Nutrition, and Willtest were stationed at the booth to provide onsite explanations. They engaged in deep discussions with visiting audience members regarding raw material quality control standards, manufacturing processes, formula optimization paths, animal health product usage specifications, and testing services, exploring future industry development trends together. Onsite visitors frequently expressed that following more than 40 years of development, Tongwei's product quality has become an anchor of stability in the hearts of farmers, and its integrated services effectively guarantee their long-term economic returns.

At the event site, Tongwei's mascot "Xiao Wei Zai" and various cultural publications gained immense popularity among the audience. Visitors enthusiastically participated in interactive games, took commemorative photos, and engaged in face-to-face exchanges with staff members, creating a vibrant onsite atmosphere and forging deep connections.
To accommodate industry colleagues and farming users who were unable to attend the expo in person, TWAD specially arranged a two-day live stream. During the live stream, the team delivered a detailed and systematic explanation of product technical characteristics, typical application scenarios, and user service cases. The Company's general manager, along with professional teams from the marketing and service lines, took turns going online to answer the technical details and practical operational questions raised by the audience one by one. The online interaction was exceptionally active, and the cumulative viewership continued to climb. This facilitated a smoother exchange of information between Tongwei, its end users, and industrial chain partners, further shortening the communication distance.
This session of the expo closely targets industry pain points, highlights the execution of policies, strengthens technological guidance, and focuses on practical results. It constructs a complete closed loop of development logic spanning from macro-situations and policy orientations to seed industry breakthroughs, digital empowerment, low-carbon farming, consumption transformation, enterprise operations, and industrial chain synergy.
